Coaching Practices
Establish working agreements

Agreements lay the foundation of a coaching relationship. Build-in basic structures about how you will work together moving forward. Make sure you and your coach agree on ground rules.

Focus on developing robustlearning goals

The purpose of coaching is to learn. Learning is also the payoff. Make sure learning goals are worthy of your time and effort. Developing robust learning goals takes time and good conversation.

Balance talking and listening

It’s easy and natural to want to seek advice, but strive to get more than good advice. Coaches want you to listen to your ideas as much as they want to share what they have to say.

Engage in meaningful and authentic conversation

Strive to go deeper than surface conversation. Share your successes and failures as well as what you are learning from your current coaching relationship.

Check out assumptions and hunches

If you sense something is missing or not going well, you are probably right. Address issues as soon as possible. Simply stating, “I want to check out my assumption which is … ” will prevent you from assuming your Coach is on track.

Support and challenge your Coach

Work on creating a comfortable relationship first before you launch into the uncomfortable stretch needed for deep learning.

Set the expectation oftwo-way feedback

Candid feedback is a powerful trigger for growth and change. Set the expectation early on. Be prepared to offer candid feedback, balanced with compassion. Model how to ask for and receive good feedback by asking your Coach for specific feedback on your coaching contribution.

Check-in regularly to stay on track

Keep connected and develop a pattern of regular engagement. Both partners need to be accountable for following through with agreements. By holding an open, honest conversation about how you’re doing and what you need to do to improve, you encourage mutual accountability and deepen the relationship.

Do
Be groomed when you talk with a customer, ensure they feel comfortable when dealing with SpeakIn.
Don’t
Dress casually, talk informally, behave unprofessionally.

Punctuality

We want you to make the most of your experience.
Do
Adhere to the agreed upon time slot and join the meeting at least 5 minutes before.
Don’t
Be absent for the meeting without any prior notification.

Helpful

We want to involve everyone in a great discussion with a polite and helpful attitude.
Do
Be well prepared, ask questions, and convery all your questions and concerns very politely and patiently.
Don’t
Screaming, talking very fast and rude in a heavy tone.
Enthusiastic
We love our job and we aim to make our workplace as fun and enjoyable as possible. We also aim to make our
users enjoy our product too.
Do
Be kind, friendly, and engaging with your Coach. Ensure it is a fun environment where we strive to improve
all the time.
Don’t
Needlessly blame customers or employees. Mistakes are part of learning.

Ownership
Intellectual Property

The Sites and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by SpeakIn. Users and Coaches are responsible for the content they post. They assume all risks associated with this, including but not limited to a third party’s reliance on its accuracy, claims related to intellectual property, and other legal rights. By posting content on SpeakIn or discussed during sessions, Users and Coaches are representing that they have the right to do so and that doing so does not conflict with any other previous agreements made. All the coaching sessions on the platform shall be recorded and given access to it to both coach and coachee. This shall be the property of SpeakIn and all rights remain with SpeakIn to further reproduce those videos/recordings.

Code of Conduct

In using our Site and Services, you agree to follow our Code of Conduct. Violations of our Code of Conduct may result in the immediate removal of your access to this site
and/or restrictions on your access to our services.
In general, maintaining civility in communication is encouraged. If you encounter someone who is negatively affecting your platform experience by either spamming you or
insulting you, please report the user immediately.
SpeakIn reserves the right to hide and/or remove any content on our site that may be illegal, unlawful, or unethical.
Coachees may not:

  • use their SpeakIn profile in a way that is considered outside of normal use, unethical, or illegal.
  • share their account with other developers. This means that the account creator should be the only user of that account at all times
  • use aliases. Coaches should only use a real portrait photo for their profile picture.
  • create multiple accounts to abuse the Site’s promotional or referral credits/program, or attempt fraud. Doing so will result in the confiscation of all unpaid payouts, and your status as a
    Coachee will be revoked.
  • engage in any form of cheating. This includes getting graded assignments and/or tests from a coach or soliciting a coach to cheat on assignments and/or tests. engage in plagiarism.
  • stalk, harass or intimidate coach about their rating or reviews. If you have any concerns about a particular user, please report the user
  • make untruthful claims about your expertise or your ability to help
  • make promises you do not intend to honor.
  • assist coaches who may attempt fraudulent activity, or whose accounts are flagged.
  • If your account is found to violate any of the above guidelines, we reserve the right to revoke your status as a Coachee on the SpeakIn platform.
Links To Other Sites

Our Site may contain links to third-party sites that are not owned or controlled by SpeakIn. Trademarks of third-party sites, such as names and logos, may be used on our
site to identify the sites. We do not claim any ownership of those names, slogans, or logos.

Rights

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms of Service by posting the updated terms on the Site and providing a minimum of 30 days before these become effective. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Service.

Compliances

You agree and understand that you will comply with all terms and conditions and policies of the SpeakIn platform. You shall be responsible for your current or previous organization compliances fulfillment and SpeakIn shall not be responsible for any such breach or non-compliance issues. SpeakIn advises you to follow ethical practices with your employer or associate organizations.

Rights

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms of Service by posting the updated terms on the Site and providing a minimum of 30 days before these become effective. Your continued use of the Site after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms of Service. The content and terms of this document are highly confidential and can not be shared with anyone outside the scope of the applicable person(s). You shall protect the confidentiality of thisinformation.
